4,000 meet to give laity a voice,
By Chuck Colbert, National Catholic Reporter, 8/2/2002
"Keep the Faith, Change the Church," has become the battle cry
for the largest lay-led, church reform advocacy group — Voice
of the Faithful — to emerge in the wake of the sex-abuse crisis.

historic meeting at Boston's Hynes Convention Center to express
their anger, sadness, and frustration with at a hierarchy unwilling
to accept the laity's proper place in the Church as outlined in

New groups push for change,
By Chuck Colbert, National Catholic Reporter, 4/26/2002
How fitting that Boston, the cradle of American democracy, would
once again serve as the setting for another revolution. This time
the preservation of the Church is at stake. With a stroke of the
keyboard and the click of the mouse, the shot has been heard round
the Church: no longer will the laity stay silent; absolute power
with no representation cannot and will not be tolerated. VOTF
members have become a formidable force in the struggle for change
from within the Church. Read more
