Catholics Will Gather to Discuss the Selection of the New Archbishop
for San Francisco
A FIRST IN MODERN TIMES IN THE USA
Voice of the Faithful – Northern California will host a Day of
Discernment to pray, discuss, reflect and discern the future pastoral
leadership of the Archdiocese of San Francisco on
Sunday October 9, 2005,
11:30 am until 3:30 pm’
St Matthew Catholic Church,
1 Notre Dame Avenue,
(near 9th Avenue at El Camino Real),
San Mateo, Ca 94402.
This Day of Discernment is open to all Catholics, lay and ordained.
Voice of the Faithful points out that this gathering is in the best
traditions of the ancient Church wherein the People of God selected
their leaders and bishops.
The new Archbishop to San Francisco will face several serious issues
including openness and accountability, the consolidation of parishes
and ministries, rebuilding trust, a large debt and the serious shortage
of priests.
