PRESS CONFERENCE
WHAT: Voice of the Faithful press conference to report on VOTF’s first
meeting with Boston Archbishop Sean O’Malley
WHEN: Press conference will be held on Wed., Nov. 19, 2003, after the
meeting, which will begin at 2:30PM ET at Chancery/residence complex (the
2:30 meeting is scheduled for approximately one hour; press conference will
take place whenever the meeting concludes)
WHERE: 2121 Commonwealth Avenue, “sidewalk”
WHO: VOTF participants will be Jim Post (President); Steve Krueger,
(Executive Director); Elia Marnik (“Protecting Our Children” Working Group);
and Margaret Roylance (“Structural Change” Working Group). Archdiocese
participants will be Archbishop Sean O’Malley and Bishop Richard Lennon
WHY: Press conference will report VOTF’s reactions, perceptions and insights
regarding first meeting with Archbishop Sean O’Malley
MEETING AGENDA:
- Lay foundation for ongoing relationship between Voice of the Faithful and
Archbishop Sean
- Share with Archbishop Sean who Voice of the Faithful is, including:
fidelity, membership composition, mission, goals, commitment,
accomplishments, contributions to the revitalization of parishes, ministry
to survivors, etc.
- Discussion of partial ban of Boston Archdiocese VOTF members from meeting
in their own parishes
- Discussion of Voice of Compassion-Boston Fund
