Call For Nominations for 2008 Officer Elections

Dear Friends,

It is time for the election of Voice of the Faithful's national officers for 2008. We invite you to take part in the governance of VOTF by nominating qualified candidates for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
Requirements: (Nomination procedures are different than in the 2006-07 election.)

  • Registered VOTF members are eligible to nominate candidates, including themselves, for National Officer positions. (If you are not yet a registered member, you can register on the VOTF website (www.votf.org) JOIN, on the right-hand side of the home page).

  • Candidates must be a member of VOTF for at least 2 years.

  • Candidates must submit a 250-500 word statement of interest and willingness to serve for a two-year period, noting the support of the VOTF Mission Statement, Identity Statement and all three goals of VOTF.

  • A written reference and statement of support from an acknowledged local, regional, or national leader of VOTF must also be received by December 15, 2007. Candidates should identify "the leader" in advance to the nomination committee to mitigate confusion regarding acceptability of the referral.

  • All nominations, Candidate statements and leader reference must be completed online and received by midnight EST on December 15, 2007--a firm deadline.

  • All requirements must be sent to nominations@votf.org by the above date.

  • Nominations will be acknowledged by email within 2 business days. Please contact the VOTF office if an acknowledgement is not received in that time.

The Nominating Committee (see below) will also actively search for qualified candidates to submit their names in nomination, but the committee will not endorse particular candidates. The committee will ensure that all nominations are on time and complete, and they will post the slate of candidates by January 7, 2008.
All nominees who meet the criteria for office will be placed on the ballot. VOTF will take steps to provide members with as much information about, and access to, the candidates as possible before the election takes place in February 2008 (date TBA).

All nominating and voting will be done on-line. Any candidate nominated by a VOTF member who agrees to the nomination and meets the proposed criteria/requirements noted above, will be placed on the ballot.

Thank you for your interest in and commitment to Voice of the Faithful. Your prayerful and active participation as a member of VOTF is an integral part of the processes that will ensure the continued vitality of the organization and movement.

Sincerely,
