American Catholic Council (continued)

…it is vital that dialogue and discussion bring the voices of all Catholics to bear on the future of the Church. We expect the ACC to be a key event in developing a more responsive, accountable and participatory Church.

As you can see from this description, what the ACC is trying to accomplish dovetails with the mission and goals of Voice of the Faithful. To that end, VOTF is counting on its members and affiliates to be major resources for listening assemblies. We hope that VOTF members will see the opportunity of holding a Listening Assembly as a way to continue VOTF’s work, to have a dynamic meeting or workshop, and to rejuvenate flagging spirits in the journey towards a more participatory Church.

A Listening Assembly Template has been designed to make holding a local assembly extremely easy and effective.

The session can be as short as two hours or as long as an entire day. These sessions can be held in living rooms with a small group or in larger spaces for a crowd. Everything you need to get started in planning a session that would be appropriate for your situation is easily accessible at this website: www.assembliesacc.ning.com. I am also available to talk to you about any aspect of this that you wish, so please call or write. (Sheila Peiffer, 845-291-3943, sheila_peiffer@yahoo.com )
