Los Angeles CA: “Citing an alleged misrepresentation
by Cardinal Roger M. Mahony, a judge ruled Wednesday that four people can seek
punitive damages
against the Los Angeles Archdiocese for failing to protect them from a priest
they accused of sexual abuse.” Read

Delaware: “After a five-hour hearing today that included
the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington warning of possible ministry cutbacks and
an industry
representative warning of the potential for higher cost or non-existent insurance
coverage, the House Judiciary Committee voted 5-0 to release a bill that would
eliminate the civil statute of limitations for child sexual abuse cases.” Read
