Dear Friends,
This week of Thanksgiving we all pause in our busy lives to give thanks. In VOTF, we all know there is still much work to be done, but we take time to focus on all we have to be thankful for, including each other.
We just finished a highly successful convention, and I hope many of you are invigorated with new ideas or action plans as a result of those successes shared
at the convention.
More than 1100 of our members have taken the time to participate in the John Jay Causes and Context Survey.
We have seen the statute of limitations laws change in Delaware, and many others are working on extending the statute of limitations in their states.
This past week we saw a significant improvement in the willingness to be transparent when the Archdiocese of Boston released a highly critical report on how the Archdiocese handled the funds associated with parish closings. This is particularly significant because the report was presented in total, including the parts that were critical of the Archdiocese. The reason for this full disclosure was a commitment the Archdiocese made to the committee headed by David Castaldi, former Chairman of VOTF's Board of Trustees. Success such as this requires time, patience, and a willingness to believe change is possible. You can read the full story by using this link.
During this holiday weekend, I hope you get to spend some quality time with your family and friends.
Wishing you and your families a very blessed Thanksgiving,
Mary Pat Fox
