"Vatican II in its Fiftieth Year"
Vatican II in its Fiftieth Year is the theme of the Adult Faith Formation presentations sponsored by the North Shore – Seacoast Affiliate of VOTF in collaboration with the School of Theology and Ministry, Boston College.
The focus of Vatican II in its Fiftieth Year will be on how the documents of the Council addressed the need for the Church to listen and respond to the questions of contemporary men and women, explored images of thinking about the Church and what it means to belong to a Church, enhanced the role of the laity in the Church and in the world, and advanced liturgical reform and renewal.
Sister Maureen Sullivan, O.P., Ph.D., St. Anselm’s College, will begin the ninth season on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at St. Rose’s in Topsfield from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M . Her topic is “Gaudium et Spes” (The Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World.)
Please join us on our faith journey as we learn more about Vatican II and the years that followed. Refreshments will be served. Donations are always welcome! |
