School is back in session. And for many Catholics in Eastern Massachusetts, the ringing of the bells brings a new life to the church and their schools. Donations and enrollment are on the rise with the help of innovative solutions, like turning over the administration to lay people.

In Boston, changes are especially noticeable this year.

Problem

As settlements continue, we are discovering more information about the actions of bishops and chancery officials when confronted with examples of abuse.

Just as a settlement is made in Belleville Illinois, another is being brought to light.
