WHAT: Press Conference to Present a VOTF Report on the State of the Clergy Sexual Abuse Crisis in Light of the Bishops’ Conference

HOW: VOTF leaders from VOTF-National and VOTF-Northern Virginia will report on issues that include:
- Accountability – “fraternal,” financial, moral – How
are the Bishops doing?
- Transparency/disclosure from lay
review boards: NRB (abuse incidence and prevalence by diocese) and OCYP (compliance
by diocese) – Standards and requirements
- Where is the hope? – Some important
signs
WHY: VOTF feels it is important
to present this Report in advance of the Bishops’ conference in order to give press a perspective on current issues. We believe this will help you when interacting with Bishops at the conference.
